The Pete Burden Quartet
I have been privileged to be an increasingly regular member of Pete's Quartet over the past few years. Pete is one of the south coasts most accomplished and best known professional alto saxophonists. With his roots firmly in the neo be-bop style of the fifties and sixties, Pete has a vast repertoire of jazz standards and popular tunes. He plays at venues in and around Sussex with his quartet, often including guest instrumentalists and vocalists and at many private parties and events where his mix of cool interpretations of "The Great American Songbook", classic tunes and Bossa Novas are always appreciated. The recordings below were part of a live concert given in the open air in Hastings Town Centre and includes the piano of Andrew Winterbourn, the double bass of Erica Wilson and myself.
